Across the 90’Maurizio Favetta was chief designer at the studio of the renowned architect Matteo Thun in Milan. In this period he transversally worked on architecture, interior and product design and started to investigate the interaction and synergy between architecture and visual communication.

With the leadership of Matteo Thun , Maurizio Favetta brought around the world the exhibition of visionary skyscrapers “The Heavy Dress – a manifesto of architecture” , a collection of media buildings years before they appeared in our landscapes.

From 1990 to 1993 he has been worldwide project leader for the launch of the first generation of Swatch retail stores.

In 1994 Maurizio Favetta after almost ten years of collaboration with Matteo Thun, started his own activity founding King Size Design.

The headquarter was established in Milan - via Tortona, the Milanese district which, after some years, became the point of reference for the international creativity.

King Size Design has become quickly the creative centre of projects in different circles: architecture, showrooms and retail, display design, exhibition stands, scenography and movie sets.


Always in 1994 he launches the line of furniture King Size edizioni, and throughout the following four years he designs the collections organizing the distribution internationally.

Maurizio Favetta developed hundreds of projects in watch and cosmetic business.

He realized display system for leader companies such as Tissot, Sector. Philippe Watch, Lucien Rochat, Roberto  Cavalli watches, Pryngeps, Seiko, Rimmel, Lancaster, Joop, Isabella  Rossellini,  Collistar, Biotherm, Bizzarre, Thierry  Mugler, Layla, Playtex, Lumberjack, National Lotteries England, British Post Office, Barclays bank, And Camicerie, Cielo Perla gioiellerie, Morgano maglierie, Portable shop Switzerland, YKK AP Japan, Swarovski retail.

In 1999 he is creative consultant of Creativity designing for Alitalia, Telecom, Omnitel, Sparco, Ras Bank,

For Creativity and in collaboration with Michele de Lucchi, he is creator of support systems of communication for Poste Italiane and of the Poste shop. In this period he is visiting professor at the Art College of Design Europe in Montreaux (F) and at IED and Domus Academy in Milan (I).

 

 

 

 

For three years he has been unique advisor for Sector in the watch business and for Rimmel/Lancaster in the cosmetics business. In United Kingdom he designed for National Lotteries, British Post Office, Barclays Bank, Imperial Tobacco, Kesslers International ltd. In Switzerland he was author of the retail chain “The Portable Shop”.

 

In 2002 he founds Crea International together with other partners.

Under the art direction of Maurizio Favetta, Crea International collected a considerable number of projects of retail chain and space design in Italy and abroad.

The clients are leader brands on the market: Vodafone, Wind, San Paolo, Unicredit bank, Lavazza, Barilla, Sara Assicurazioni, Capitalia, Trenitalia, Aci, Dibi Center, Saudi Telecom, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Cosmote Greece and  many others. 

Mission of Crea International is “Physical Brand Design”. The concept of Physical Brand Design devised and patented by Crea, defines the sphere dealing with the planning of physical spaces where the link with brands is strongest.

 

After five years of activity together with Crea International, in July 2007 Maurizio Favetta leaves the company for overtaking the retail design and for working with a wider creative horizons.

Maurizio Favetta opens his own creative network Kingsize Architects, in order to experience the connection between art, design.  graphics, and visual communication applied to the project of the architectural spaces.

 

With the launch of the new company, Maurizio Favetta started the development of architectural and interior projects particularly in the field of hospitality '.

In the 2008 and 2009 he partecipated with a personal exhibitions at the edition of of Abitare il Tempo in the section Linking People with virtual models of luxury hotel lobby.

On the occasion of MADE EXPO Milano 2009 edition, he participated with the project Ecobar dining, at the event "Laboratory of Architecture", organized by the architectural magazine OF ARCH.

In 2010 he was guest of INTERNI Magazine during the Milan Design week with the event THINK THANK. During the same year he participated in Spa Boutique Naples with the project  INFINITY LOUNGE. 

Projects of this period include the theater auditorium Mugham House in Baku in Azerbaijan and the lobby hotel W Mariott in Cannes on the Croisette.

In the retail sector he  developed projects for Lavazza (worldwide chain of coffee shops Espression Lavazza) and Fastweb ( multistore corners).

Between 2008 and 2010, Maurizio Favetta was strategic consultant for Philips Lighting Eindhoven in research and development on advanced light.

 

 

He was also co-autor of two design books about the Italian Design and Interior, edited by the japanese publisher Graphic Sha Tokyo.

 

 

 

Maurizio Favetta is honorary member of AIPI, the association of Italian interior designers.

Founding member of “Italian Design Force” Kingsize Architects - New Tone)  with which he designed the mall Jelly Kish in Kish Island (Iran).

During the last years the most relevant projects were Rotana Rhossos resort hotel in Antakia Turkey, residential projects in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, the art direction of the event BMW Haute Couture In Abu Dhabi at the Jumejra Hotel in Ethiad Towers. In this occasion he designed the set for Jean Paul Gautier fashion show. In 2014 he designed the Termal Centre Sveti Martin in Croatia for the renowed Slovenian Hotel Group Life Class and 8 luxury villas in Baku Azerbajan.
